RACE WITH THE REPS

25 January 2026
Moana Pool, Dunedin

Race with the Reps isn’t your average swim meet. It’s a high-energy showdown where rising talent gets the rare chance to race side-by-side (or more accurately, one lane over) with some of New Zealand’s top representative swimmers in a long-course pool. The format mixes up strokes and distances, but the real thrill comes in the afternoon’s main event: the Showcase Finals. That’s where the fastest age-group swimmers go head-to-head over 50 metres with one of our elite reps.

The day is split into two sessions. The morning is all about variety, strokes and distances up to 200 metres, while the afternoon ramps things up with longer races and the crowd-favourite finals.

Here’s how it works: in each age group and gender, the top seven swimmers from the morning’s 50m races qualify for the Showcase Finals. Our rep claims the centre lane, and the age-group finalists get a head start (based on their morning time). Then it’s a full-throttle chase to the wall. Can they hold off the rep? The finish is always electric.

Kicking things off is a fun twist: the 4x50m Freestyle Relay. It’s free to enter and open to anyone keen to start the day with a bang. Simply select ‘event 300’ when you register, and we’ll take care of the rest. You’ll be teamed up with other athletes and led by one of our Reps. It’s a great way to break the ice, make some noise, and get the blood pumping.

Whether you’re diving in or cheering from the sidelines, Race with the Reps is fast, fun, and full of energy. It’s not just about winning—it’s about testing yourself against the best and having a blast doing it.
